BigDayPress is an independent service run by Amit Patel. We turn friends’ notes and photos into special-edition newspapers. This page explains the launch site and the edition service.
What we collect
If you join the waitlist, we collect your email address and signup details so we can send one launch email. When the edition tools are available, they need the information you provide about an occasion, contributions, photos and edits to make your paper. Hosting services also process technical information such as IP addresses and request logs to run and protect the service.
How we use it
We use your information to run the service you request, answer support questions and prevent abuse. We do not sell your personal information or use contributions for advertising. Joining the waitlist is not consent to a continuing marketing newsletter.
Service providers and AI
We use Vercel for hosting. The edition generator sends the text needed to draft your paper through Vercel AI Gateway to an AI provider. Storage, email and payment providers may process information when those features are enabled. Providers may process information outside your country under their own terms. Please do not submit passwords, financial information, medical details or other sensitive material.
Contribution and edition links
Anyone you give a contribution link to may be able to submit material. Published editions can be read by anyone with the edition link, and a recipient can forward or download them. A link is not a password or a guarantee of privacy. Get permission before uploading someone else’s photos or private stories.
Storage and deletion
We keep information needed to provide the service and meet legal or security requirements. You can ask us to remove a signup, contribution or edition. Some information may remain temporarily in backups or records required by law. We cannot remove copies another person has already downloaded or shared.
Your choices
You can request access, correction or deletion of your information, or withdraw your waitlist signup, by contacting hello@bigdaypress.com. Your local law may give you additional rights, including the right to complain to a data protection authority.
Children and security
The service is intended for adults. Do not upload a child’s personal information or photo without a parent or guardian’s permission. We use reasonable safeguards, but no online service can promise absolute security.
Site storage
The landing site does not require advertising cookies. Hosting or security services may use necessary storage or technical logs. We will update this page if we add tools that change how we use personal information.
